His inspirational story has been highlighted on national media outlets around the countsry.  http://www.nateboyer.com/

This event is a Labor of Love. It is an idea thought up by a few Veterans (Tito and Scot) that when realized, will mean a lot to our fellow Veterans and their families.  In October 2013, two of us started organizing for this event, an event that we plan to have annually.  We looked for the right location.  And we found it at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall.

Next we started looking for partners to aid our mission.  Who’s friendly?    Who’s not?  Who’s willing to work (all on a Volunteer budget) for something that sounds crazy to some, and makes perfect sense to others.  Continuing this large annual Veterans event  (our second year) that can showcase some of the surrounding resources, services, and fellow friends to our community. This year we are partnering with the National Alliance to End Veteran Suicide to be the lead 501c3 non-profit financial body and Military Veterans Solutions.

This is a community event that is being put on by Veterans for Veterans and their families.  The Veterans Resource Fair at the Tacoma Dome is a community partnership between various veteran owned agencies, individuals, nonprofits, federal, state, and local county agencies whose aim is to provide an annual and reliable place and event where Pierce, King, Kitsap and Thurston County Veterans and their families can obtain direct connections / information to many different types of  veteran specific programs and resources.  The National Alliance to End Veteran Suicide is the acting financial body and non-profit organization in this partnership to provide a community based event that will aid Native American, Hispanic, White, African-American, Asian, unemployed, retired and Veterans from all other backgrounds and their families with many different resources and services that the Puget Sound community has to offer.  No one is receiving any salaries, fees, or anything of that nature from this event.  It is being done with the time and sweat of Volunteers, a few unemployed and retired Vets, and others who care.

Sincerely yours,

Event Directors, Tito Alfredo Medina (Enlisted Navy, Submarines!) and Scot Pondelick (Enlisted Army, EOD!)

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am a volunteer and guardian with the Puget Sound Honor Flight Network ( http://pugetsoundhonorflight.org) which at no cost to a WWII Veteran, provides a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to see their Memorials in Washington, DC and Virginia dedicated to their sacrifices.
The tour on Sunday and Monday, May 10th and 11th in Washington DC and Virginia is as follows.  We will take a deluxe coach with a motorcycle escort from Baltimore to Washington, DC and visit the WWII, Lincoln, Korean War, Vietnam War, FDR, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force Memorials and the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns and the Women in Military Service for America Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery ( http://pugetsoundhonorflight.org/honor-flight-trips/your-day-in-dc/).
There will be 56 WWII Veterans and 52 guardians departing from SeaTac airport at 8:20 am on Saturday, May 9th on Alaska Airlines Flight 768 on a Puget Sound Honor Flight to Baltimore Washington International (BWI) airport.   All 56 WWII Veterans and 52 guardians return to SeaTac on Monday, May 11th on Alaska Airlines flight 767 (from BWI) at 8:05 pm ( http://pugetsoundhonorflight.org/honor-flight-trips/upcoming-flights/.
You are welcome to join us and greet our WWII Veterans when we return to SeaTac on Monday, May 11th for a Welcome Home Celebration in the  Atrium area on the southend baggage level of the airport (near the shuttle bus departures area).
You can see video of the April 2014 Puget Sound Honor Flight Trip on YouTube at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt16gIxGuXI.
Note:  Stuff happens & flights can be early or late.  So I’m listing the schedule as I know it today and arrival times can change.
During our March 2015 trip to  Washington, DC, we were fortunate enough to have shared the trip with Lindsay and Eric from KING5 TV .  They’ve been working hard at putting together stories highlighting our trip, and I’m happy to share with you some dates that these segments will be airing leading up to the Memorial Day Special.
