On 5/24 Commander Ray Fairbanks presented Steven Cazales with the VFW award. On Friday 6/8 Steven, a senior, will be receiving his commission as a 2nd LT in the U.S. Army as a military intelligence officer. Congratulations go to him on his success and we at the Post hope he has a bright future in the U.S. Army.
June 6, 1944, 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. General Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end on June 6, the Allies gained a foot- hold in Normandy. The D-Day cost was high -more than 9,000 Allied Soldiers were killed or wounded — but more than 100,000 Soldiers began the march across Europe to defeat Hitler.

Meet Henry from Boulevard Brewing! We’ll be tapping some fun kegs and also trying out some of their great year-round beers out of bottles. $4 tasting fee, half of which goes to the VFW.
Update: The tasting went great. I want to thank all of those who attended. We raised $180 dollars to help Veterans in need. A Special thank goes out to the Beer Junction and Boulevard Brewing, without these two great companyies this would not have been a success. I snapped a few photos during the tasting.
