A Veteran and His Camera – HitRECord x Find Your Park

In the Spring of 2015, Juan “JT” Ibanez visited 12 National Parks in 25 days and brought his camera along to document each one. A former US Army Soldier and Iraq War Veteran, JT’s trip through the national parks served as a therapeutic experience to readjust back into life after military service. Beginning in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia and ending at Redwood National Park in California, JT found solace, peace, and a little adventure waiting at each stop of his 7,200 mile excursion.

The National Park Service and the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, partnered with hitRECord, a collaborative online production company founded by actor/director Joseph Gordon-Levitt in celebration of the National Park Service Centennial. This video was inspired by the Find Your Park/Encuentra Tu Parque movement.

Final Push for Heroes in the Ballpark Fundraising

Comrades,

The date for Heroes in the Ballpark is quickly approaching and fundraising efforts are currently lagging behind the 5 year average.  As of April 1, only 20 percent of  posts in the Department of Washington have participated, down from a normal 60 percent at this time last year.  To meet our goal, we really need your support today.  Please see the attached copies of the Donation Statistic for 2016, Donation Request Letter, and flyer for the Tacoma Rainiers game for more info.  A $100 donation from your Veteran’s Relief Fund will sponsor 10 wounded warriors to an evening of baseball in their honor.  Doesn’t seem like a lot to ask, but for some reason it’s been difficult this year to raise those funds.

For those of you that have already donated to this worthy cause, my sincere thanks and gratitude.  You have made a difference to a military member, or family member, here in our state of Washington.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can lend to this effort.

Yours in comradeship,

Brad T. Pieratt
