I attended the meeting with the officers of the Newtown VFW and its Ladies and Men’s Auxiliaries last night on behalf of the State Commander.  First District Commander Dick Kennedy also attended. They were very appreciative that we came. They set up a bank account to receive funds for the “Newtown/Sandy Hook fund Family Relief Fund”  It seems very possible that some of the parents may not have had life insurance on their young children, and this fund will certainly help with the funerals.  They will also use some of the money, if needed, for the first responders. For those posts interested in making a monatary donation. VFW Post 308 and mail to: 18 Tinkerfield Road    Newtown, Ct.  06470.  Thank You.
