(I received this email and wanted to pass it along – Commander Sullivan)
Dear Friends of Rebuilding Together Seattle,
As a supporter of the Rebuilding Together Seattle Veterans Initiative to meet the growing housing needs of veterans (and their families) from past and present wars, we wanted to let you know of some exciting changes.
In order to support more individuals who have served our country, we are increasing the annual income limit criteria for veterans. We are now able to serve veterans who fall into the 80% category of the HUD income guidelines.

Under the revised Veterans Initiative, special preference will be given to elderly veterans and veterans wounded in combat. We will still accept applications from all veterans that fall into the 80% income bracket, including veterans who served during peace time.
Veteran applicants must:
- Own their home
- Live between Everett and Tukwila (North/South) and Lake Washington and Puget Sound (East/West)
- Maintain current homeowners insurance
- Provide their DD-214 upon applying
We hope that these new changes will encourage more veterans to apply to receive free home repairs from Rebuilding Together Seattle. Due to several upcoming partnerships with organizations that specifically want to serve veterans,we encourage all veterans who meet our criteria to apply as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Margie Thirlby
